YOUR ROLE AS ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER
The Housekeeping Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service excellence, in full alignment with Forbes Five-Star expectations and the brand’s luxury positioning. This role partners closely with the Director of Housekeeping to ensure that every guest environment guest rooms, suites, and public spaces is maintained with precision, consistency, and refined attention to detail.
Beyond operational oversight, the Housekeeping Manager is responsible for cultivating a culture of discipline, accountability, and anticipatory service, where standards are not only met but consistently exceeded. This is achieved through structured training, rigorous inspection protocols, and hands on leadership presence, ensuring that all team members perform with confidence, consistency, and pride in execution.
At the direction of the Director of Housekeeping, this role also supports key administrative functions, including payroll oversight and labor scheduling, ensuring alignment with business demands, productivity targets, and financial objectives.

The Housekeeping Manager serves as both a leader and a standard-bearer, reinforcing a culture where excellence is habitual, measurable, and sustained.
- Provide strong, visible leadership to Supervisors, Room Attendants, and Public Area Attendants, setting clear expectations aligned with luxury service standards.
- Foster a culture rooted in accountability, professionalism, and excellence, ensuring all team members understand their impact on the guest experience.
- Lead daily line-ups and shift briefings with a focus on priorities, VIP arrivals, service standards, and operational alignment.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance management to build and sustain a high-performing team.
- Support and execute payroll review and labor scheduling at the direction of the Director of Housekeeping, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with operational needs.
- Maintain an active presence on the floor, reinforcing standards through observation, coaching, and real-time feedback.
- Design and execute a structured onboarding and continuous training program grounded in Forbes Travel Guide standards and brand expectations.
- Conduct daily briefings that reinforce service culture, quality expectations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement weekly skills validation and performance testing, ensuring technical proficiency and consistency in execution.
- Utilize Forbes-style spot inspections as coaching tools, reinforcing standards through practical, real-time learning.
- Develop Supervisors as leaders, trainers, and quality ambassadors, ensuring consistency across all shifts.
- Maintain detailed training documentation and performance tracking, ensuring accountability and sustained development.
- Apply a disciplined “show, do, review” training methodology to drive retention and mastery.
- Ensure all guest accommodations and public areas reflect exceptional cleanliness, flawless presentation, and refined service delivery.
- Inspect guest rooms for arrival, daily, and turndown service at a Forbes Five Star Level.
- Oversee all VIP arrivals, suites, and turndown services to ensure personalization, attention to detail, and readiness at the highest level.
- Instill a culture of anticipatory service, where team members proactively recognize and respond to guest needs and preferences.
- Enforce proper guest interaction protocols, including discretion, professionalism, and respect for privacy.
- Ensure turndown service consistently delivers a luxury evening experience, with attention to ambiance and detail.

- Monitor, document, and analyze inspection performance metrics, identifying trends and driving corrective action.
- Execute daily randomized audits to ensure consistency across all team members and areas.
- Hold Supervisors accountable for inspection integrity and quality assurance outcomes.
- Strategically manage staffing levels and scheduling to align with occupancy, service levels, and business demand.
- Drive productivity while maintaining uncompromising quality standards, ensuring efficiency without dilution of the guest experience.
- Oversee inventory management of supplies, linens, and amenities, maintaining optimal stock levels and cost control.
- Support payroll processing, labor tracking, and scheduling functions as directed, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and cost efficiency.
- Analyze labor and productivity reports to identify opportunities for operational refinement.
- Implement standardized workflows and cleaning sequences to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Ensure strict adherence to all housekeeping standard operating procedures and brand guidelines.
- Maintain uniformity in presentation and execution across all guest rooms, suites, and public areas.
- Reinforce consistency through structured communication, shift handovers, and daily operational reporting.
- Monitor performance through inspection data, productivity metrics, and direct observation.
- Address deviations immediately through coaching, retraining, and follow-up.
- Support deep cleaning initiatives and special projects with disciplined planning and execution.
- Respond to guest inquiries and concerns with urgency, professionalism, and genuine care.
- Execute thoughtful and effective service recovery, ensuring guest satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborate seamlessly with Front Office, Engineering, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure cohesive guest experience.
- Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation protocols in accordance with regulatory and brand requirements.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment, chemicals, and materials.
- Uphold impeccable grooming and presentation standards, reflective of a luxury environment.
- Previous experience as Housekeeping Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or equivalent in a luxury hotel/resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, sanitation regulations, and Forbes/LQA standards.
- Ability to manage, train, and motivate diverse teams.
- Hands-on approach with willingness to assist in daily housekeeping operations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a guest-first mindset.
- Stamina to handle the physical aspects of the role and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality degree a plus.
